Josh Capparella joined Precis in 2016 to lead the firm’s project management team. He was promoted to Principal in 2019 and continues to serve as Director of Project Management.

Josh has over 20 years of experience in a wide variety of mechanical and energy engineering assignments in pharmaceutical and industrial facilities. He has designed biological and chemical laboratories, oral solid dosage, potent compound, aseptic fill/finish, and other cGMP facilities in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. His experience includes project management, detailed engineering design, systems evaluation, and retro-commissioning. He has performed energy calculations and simulations to maximize utility and capital savings. Josh takes an innovative approach to incorporating new technologies, data analytics, and sustainability into the design and development processes.

Josh co-authored the sustainability chapter in the Encyclopedia of Industrial Biotechnologyand wrote about benchmarking for the peer-reviewed journal, Pharmaceutical Engineering. He regularly presents on topics such as energy management and retro-commissioning to groups including the International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX) and the Greater Philadelphia Building and Facility Management Conference. Josh is a member of ASHRAE, Association of Energy Engineers, and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) for which he also serves on the ISPE Energy and Environment Committee. Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
