Dow Project Ascend

The Dow Chemical Company (DOW) relocated its entire Spring House Technical Center to Collegeville, PA. The newly leased space includes more than 800,000 SF across five floors and five buildings. The Collegeville facility was extensively renovated as required to accommodate a phased relocation and seamless transition of users. Programming meetings and detailed survey of the existing equipment and laboratories in Spring House were conducted in order to design the required modifications at the Collegeville facility. Precis Engineering was the lead design professional for this multi-phased, multi-year project, which began with a design-build approach to accommodate an aggressive early phase schedule.

The Dow Chemical Ascend Project was awarded the best Design-Build Project at the GBCA 18th Annual Construction Excellence Awards in November of 2015.

Subsequent projects at the Collegeville facility include the complete retrofit of a 125,000 SF office and conference center building, a pharmaceutical coatings R&D laboratory suite, a glass-blowing lab, and a flammable cylinder storage space. Construction is currently ongoing for HVAC infrastructure upgrades at the only remaining active building in Spring House.
